Why "Johnny and the Lawmen"?

John and the LawmenJohn and the Lawmen

Johnny and the Lawmen was a spin on a band named Johnny and the Moondogs, formerly the Quarrymen, then the Silver Beatles and finally known as The Beatles. The members of Johnny and the Moondogs, pictured above, were Pete Best, George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Stuart Sutcliffe. The "Lawmen" part comes from Johnny's early plans to become a lawyer.
